Racing Rules & Conduct

Sportsmanship

Win or lose, we're here to enjoy the racing together. Please show your fellow drivers the same respect and understanding that you would expect to receive.

To keep the championship experience as authentic as possible, drivers are asked to keep strategy discussions out of public channels.

Overtaking

  • It is the responsibility of the overtaking driver to ensure that any overtake is completed safely.

  • When attempting an overtake into a corner, the overtaking car must have its front wheels alongside the defending car's rear bumper before the start of the braking zone to be entitled to racing room.

  • If significant overlap is established before turn-in, both drivers must leave adequate racing room throughout the corner.

  • Hard racing is permitted provided that another driver is not forced off the track.

  • Divebomb overtakes that cannot reasonably make the corner without causing contact or forcing another car off line may be penalized.

Defending

  • Drivers are permitted one defensive move per straight.

  • Once a defensive move has been made, the driver must hold that line. Returning to the racing line is only permitted if it can be done safely.

  • Once the overtaking car's front wheels reach the defending car's rear bumper, racing room must be provided.

  • Weaving or making multiple defensive moves is strictly prohibited.

Racing Room

  • Racing room is defined as leaving at least one car width of space within track limits.

  • Drivers must avoid squeezing competitors off the circuit when significant overlap exists.

Rejoining the Track

  • Drivers must rejoin the track safely and without affecting other competitors.

  • If traffic is approaching, drivers must wait until a safe opportunity exists before rejoining.

  • Unsafe rejoins that cause another driver to take evasive action or result in contact may be penalized.

Track Limits

  • At least two wheels must remain within track limits at all times unless avoiding an incident.

  • Repeated abuse of track limits may result in penalties.

Lapped Traffic

  • Lapped drivers are expected to behave predictably and facilitate safe overtaking when practical.

  • Faster cars remain responsible for completing overtakes safely.

Incidents Involving Lag

  • Incidents caused primarily by connection issues or lag will typically be ruled as No Further Action (NFA) due to their unavoidable nature.

  • Drivers experiencing known lag or connection issues are expected to race with an additional margin of safety.

  • Failure to account for known connection issues may result in penalties.

Waiting After Contact

  • If a driver causes another competitor to lose position through contact, the incident must be reviewed by the stewards. The at-fault driver does not need to return the position immediately on track and may wait for a safer opportunity later in the race. Drivers may also continue racing the full distance without giving the position back, but will face harsher penalties if found at fault.

Incident Reporting

  • Any protest must be submitted within 24 hours of the race's conclusion in the #steward-submissions channel.

  • Reports should include the lap number, drivers involved, and any available video evidence.

  • Steward decisions are final unless new evidence becomes available.

Race Settings

Tire Wear and Fuel will both be set to for practice, qualifying, and race.
